Update on the Turnwood Litigation - On June 24, 2010 the Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Hawk's Landing Homeowners Association. As a result of the ruling, Ms. Cox and Ms. Whalen have elected to file a motion to petition the Wisconsin Supreme Court to review the case. The case is #2009AP000701.

There appear to be skunks in the area. A residents dog was sprayed last week. There is a concoction to eliminate the odor. Just wanted to inform the neighborhood if they have not noticed yet to keep an eye on the pooches as they go out at night to do their thing.

FOUND - PARAKEET
We found a blue parakeet feeding at out bird feeder. It is very tame. It has a blue breast and white face (I think -i know nothing about birds). We were able to pick it up and put it in a cage in our house and feed it and water it. It seemed exhausted. If anyone knows of a neighbor who lost a parakeet please call 848-9613

Coyote spotted around 8AM, running through the backyards between Red Tail and Redan Drive. Just good to be aware, especially those with children and small pets. |

Folks - It is Spring Time and we can expect an increase in solicitors going house to house for various reasons. Last night I had people from the Weedman show up and want my name. Last week there was a group of kids (about 12-18) going house to house soliciting money for a charity (!!).
I think everyone needs to know that anyone coming to their house is required to be have a solicitors permit.
Madison Ordinance 9.14 (1) reads: "Permit Required: No person shall travel from house to house for the purpose of soliciting contributions for any cause from the occupants thereof, or to canvass for orders for goods, wares, merchandise, or services of any character or description, or for the purposes of offering to give or to furnish any goods, wares, merchandise, or services to any such occupant or to induce or invite such orders, without having first applied for and received from the City Clerk a Solicitors Permit."
Every neighbor should ask any person who comes to their door soliciting or selling if they have a permit. I bet 90% won't have any idea what a permit is.
In this way, perhaps solicitors will leave the residence of Hawks Landing alone and move on to Blackhawk.
